Production Coordinator – GTO IM Adaptation and Support Hub

YOUR NEW ROLE:

The GTO IM Adaptation and Support Hub are seeking a Production Coordinator to join the Cab Paint and Mack Sleeper assembly line team at Industrial Avenue, Wacol.

As the Production Coordinator you will ensure that the overall Safety, Production and Quality KPI’s are met. You will achieve this objective through the development of the Production Team Leaders and implementation of VPS concepts and tools.

About the Role:
  • Plan and schedule the day to day production activities to meet production demand and quality targets
  • Lead, motivate, develop and manage high performing Team Leaders and Team Members;
  • Foster high team member, inter-department and management collaboration for total supply chain synergy;
  • Absenteeism and Leave reporting to Production Manager, and first point of contact for Team Leaders;
  • Ensure effective cross functional training, talent review and succession planning processes;
  • Drive a Continuous Improvement culture to achieve Safety, GOK, HpT, FTT & DPV targets;
  • Update the KPI reports and provide feedback to Team Leaders;
  • Conduct a gap analysis of KPI current state and target state, and report to key stakeholders;
  • Monthly performance evaluation sessions with employees and escalate ongoing issues to the Production Manager;
  • Monitor and ensure cost efficiency during the production process (e.g. manning, material, machine and method)
  • Proactively promote a Safety conscious way of working at all times and in accordance with Volvo’s values;
  • Ensure compliance to VGA’s Environmental Policy and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.

About You:
  • Significant manufacturing industry experience in a Leadership role;
  • Strong Leadership/Management skills, including communication, organizational and team engagement;
  • Full understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control as part of the Volvo Production System
  • Experience working in a skills-based matrix environment, including trades and non-trades people;
  • Understanding of the planning and logistics systems and processes (AS400);
  • Demonstrated Health, Safety and Environment focus;
  • Demonstrated ability in participating in and leading improvement teams;
  • Experience using problem solving tools e.g. Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, RCA & 5 Whys;
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Word and Project
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in automotive painting an advantage
