Senior Production Engineer

  • The Primary purpose of this position is to work in the Production Engineering processes, lead the way of working of Engineers and Technicians within the Cross Functional Area.
  • Drive Continuous Improvements in accordance with Volvo Production System.
  • The key success factors for this role are to deliver excellence in the performance of the related process, as well as fulfilling the Customer’s expectations, in doing so achieving the Company’s Global Manufacturing KPI’s.


RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Coach and Mentor Engineers and Technicians within the Production Engineering department
  • Prepared to stand in for Production Engineering Manager as and when required.
  • Support installation of new Prosit HW/SW updates
  • Drive and deliver the Production Engineering principles / Techniques.
  • Plan and implement activities to secure future production within the area.
  • Senior LTS responsibilities for applicable area,
  • Provide support for Engineers and Technicians as well as Cross Functional team support.
  • Responsible PSKU for processes as required, (FCS, Sprint, Avix)
  • Lead root cause analysis activities.
  • Responsible for the equipment, assembly lay out, method, assembly instructions, assembly times, line balancing, etc.…within given area.
  • Lead activities and secure the implementation of Volvo Global Manufacturing strategies in product, process and systems. (FFC - Future Factory Concept and VPS – Volvo Production System)
  • Lead cross functional teams for IB implementation, continuous improvements and takt time changes.
  • Report the performance of the process under your responsibility, coordinate actions to improve the process in the area, eliminating non added value.
  • Report, Identify and maintain KPIs – develop action plans when needed.
