Volvo Group Trucks Operations is seeking applications for an enthusiastic Material Controller to join their Adaptation and Support Hub in Wacol, Qld. This role will see you maintain and develop the factory materials systems in relation to parts management, ensuring parts are ordered and delivered on-time to meet Production build requirements for the iconic Volvo FE Dual Control truck for residential waste management.

About the Role:
  • Part of a passionate team focussed on delivering daily truck build targets
  • Action the material control process, create purchase orders and call-offs to meet customer requirements
  • Liaise with Purchasing to determine lot sizes, stocking levels and policies
  • Follow up on Late Orders from Suppliers
  • Escalate in a timely manner of any potential shortages of Build critical Parts
  • Manage New Product Introductions or major changes to the product
  • Contribute to ‘brainstorming’ sessions in a Continuous Improvement environment
  • Manage inventory of Parts to minimise risk of obsolescence
  • Liaise with Quality and Purchasing regarding product quality issues and rejects
  • Operate with a ‘Safety First’ mindset, ensuring personal safety and that of fellow workers
  • Ensure compliance to Environmental, Workplace Health & Safety policies and take any reasonable step to protect employees, the environment, and the workplace

About You:
  • Working knowledge of material control including MRP, JIT and Fusion systems
  • Sound computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Sound analytical and evaluation skills and a Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Be a positive, inclusive, and reliable X-functional team player
