Preparation & sanding Operator

Volvo Group Trucks Operations is seeking applications from enthusiastic Paint Shop Preparation and Sanding Operators to join their Adaptation and Support Hub in Wacol, Qld. This role will see you prepare Operator Cabs, bonnets and small parts for both of the iconic and Australian Made Volvo and Mack Heavy Duty truck brands.

About the Role:
  • Part of a passionate team focused on delivering daily truck build targets
  • Working in a new ‘state of the art’ paint facility
  • Meet the highest Quality standards using Standardized Work practices
  • Always follow exacting housekeeping (5S) procedures
  • Contribute to ‘brainstorming’ sessions in a Continuous Improvement environment
  • Operate with a ‘Safety First’ mindset, ensuring personal safety and that of fellow workers
  • Ensure compliance to Environmental, Workplace Health & Safety policies and take any reasonable step to protect employees, the environment, and the workplace
About You:
  • Trade qualified
  • Be a positive, inclusive, and reliable X-functional team player
  • Able to use hand and power tools or a willingness to learn
  • Good attention to detail and a Quality Control mindset
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • Have a Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Basic numeracy, literacy and computer skills
