Gothenburg, Sweden / Munich, Germany / Stuttgart, Germany – Today, the Volvo Group, Daimler Truck, and the TRATON GROUP completed the final step in forming the previously announced joint venture for charging infrastructure in Europe. The new joint venture, with Anja van Niersen as appointed CEO, is expected to have a significant role in supporting the European Union’s Green Deal for carbon-neutral freight transportation by 2050.
The Volvo Group report for the second quarter 2022 will be published on Juli 19, 2022, at 7.20 a.m. CEST. There will be a conference call for press and analysts starting at 9.00 a.m. CEST.

Volvo Group Venture Capital AB invests in Optibus Ltd, that develops and provides optimization software for public transportation planning and management. The investment highlights the companies’ shared commitment to sustainable bus fleets and more efficient transportation operations.
Neuroscience-based software to detect driver behavior, accident-prevention systems for autonomous driving, smart charging for electric vehicles, and data connectivity and privacy are some of the innovations developed by the 11 startups that are joining MobilityXlab. They will now participate in the program for at least six months to co-create solutions for more efficient, cleaner and safer logistic and transport solutions.

Simon Matti awarded with Håkan Frisinger’s Award for Excellence in Transportation
The 2022 scholarship from Håkan Frisinger's Foundation for Transport Research is awarded to Simon Matti, Professor at Luleå University of Technology. The Foundation has also decided to grant SEK 500 000 SEK for the VREF Visiting Researcher Programme 2022 to Chalmers University of Technology.
