How does a Volvo Group Apprenticeship compare to full time education?
We cannot tell you what is best for each individual. Everyone has their own passions, abilities, strengths, and will be inspired and learn in different ways. Some will thrive in full time education; others will find a more practical pathway and entering work earlier more rewarding and for those people we offer genuine career opportunities.
What is the experience?
Our Heavy Vehicle Technician apprenticeship consists of thirty weeks of residential training in two-week residential blocks over a three-year period. Our Parts Apprenticeship is delivered over two years and contains ten weeks residential training.
The colleges’ retention services ensure that each apprentice has access to full support during their stay.
We use fully vetted landlord/landladies to supply a home from home experience. This ensures that everyone is fully supported and properly looked after whilst they are away. We get excellent feedback on this aspect of our programme.
Volvo Group provides support at the heart of our programme. We understand that training is as important as being happy in the workplace. We believe that to truly thrive and achieve their potential we need to ensure that every person is given the time and one to one support to help them become the very best they can be.
We understand that stepping into the world of work can be challenging so every apprentice has a dedicated fully trained mentor/buddy at the dealership to support them and help them put the learning into action.
