The Global Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services is located in Greensboro, North Carolina where the President of the Business Area, the finance department, and the functional leaders for credit/risk management, communications, human resources, and legal are located.

This position will be part of the Global Headquarters Financial Planning & Analysis team. The scope of the role extends geographically through support of nearly 50 countries with significant cross-functional engagement (i.e. partnering with sales, operations, risk, accounting, capital markets, marketing, IT, etc.). The ideal candidate possesses the ability to extract knowledge and insight from a set of financial and statistical data, can communicate effectively with colleagues from a variety of cultures, and has an enthusiastic attitude with the capacity to quickly fill in any gaps he or she may have relative to the experience requirements listed below. This person would also have an interest in pursuing future international projects and assignments. The Data Analyst will report to the Director, Data Visualization and Analytics. The location for this role will be in Greensboro, NC, USA.

Core Responsibilities:
• Works with visualization team, FP&A, and other functional areas in refining and validating KPI definitions used in visualizations.
• Reconciles KPIs developed in Azure Data Lake to local market reporting and identifies gaps in global definitions and/or local reporting processes.
• Ensures data in visualizations uses definitions created and maintained by VFS Data team.
• Liaison between business functions and IT to identify missing data in VFS Data Lake.
• Supports visualization team in control testing required for application support.
• Supports visualization team in Power BI Premium Workspace administration.
• Builds, maintains, and improves data models, dashboards, and data pipelines.
• Creates clean, reliable, and scalable data sets by partnering with application engineering teams to address data issues in upstream systems and document data lineage, business logic, and KPI definitions.
• Maintains and supports Data Lake Ponds used in visualization, automation, and risk.
• Performs rigorous data profiling on large, complex data sets, provides insights into data quality issues, and recommendations on corrective/preventive actions based on findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participates in business intelligence initiatives in the markets, regions, and Global HQ.
• Acts as a business consultant, responding and communicating thoroughly and efficiently.
• Travel requirement: limited in the near-term although need may arise once sufficient experience has been obtained.
Education & Professional Experience

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or related field is required.
• Up to 5 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, data engineering and/or a similar data-driven role.

Competencies and Skills:

• Expert in SQL, data warehousing technology and proven knowledge of Databricks, Java, Scala, and Python are preferred.
• Experience working with cloud software providers such as Azure, AWS, and Salesforce.
• High Proficiency in Database Schema Design, Normalization, and Migration.
• Experience with planning and business intelligence applications such as Hyperion, QlikView and/or Tableau is desired though not required; familiarity with statistical packages R and Python is also a plus. A desire and aptitude to learn these applications is required.
• Experience with innovative problem solving and strong analytical and quantitative abilities – especially in the fields of finance, statistics, and/or mathematical modeling.
• Familiarity with the financial services industry is a plus.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven organizational ability with the capacity to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve goals with minimum supervision.
• Proficient with MS Office with advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English; additional languages a plus.
