Power System Engineer

Role (Purpose of the job):

Application and Design of the power system for construction equipment such as the engine Auxiliary parts ,cooling system and thermal management system.
The developments are made in projects with close cooperation with both other departments, suppliers and own production which means a lot of contacts within the company as well as outside including international contacts.

Job Content:

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities / Authorities:
  • Secure Volvo Group’s Quality, Safety & Health, Environmental Policy and code of condact are implemented
  • Develop parts and components with regards to both functionality and QDC
  • Design parts and components using CAD
  • Build part structures in PDM-system
  • Participate in development projects reaching targets on both time and cost
  • Cooperate with production and supplies to make sure the production is reliable and cost effective

Key Skills:
  • Product knowledge – Engine & Aux parts technology of construction equipment, commercial vehicle, passenger vehicle or similar applications.
  • Designer competences – Engine & Aux parts technology
  • Designer tools (Mechanical design)
  • Production technology
  • Practical technical competence
  • Knowledge of products
  • Special knowledge in specific areas of cooling system design in combustion engine application such as heat balance technology, noise & vibration technologies etc is an asset; thermal management system design in EV application such as integrated thermal system architecture, thermal performance simulation, TMS key component development;
  • Team player
  • Environmental, safety and legal requirements on our operations

Required Knowledge & Experience:

Education/Professional Qualifications required:
  • Experience in product development
  • Knowledge of Engine & Auxiliary parts application
  • CAD
  • Knowledge of cooling system development methods used in engine system
  • Knowledge of thermal management system development methods used in EV application
  • Knowledge of noise reduction methods used in engine system or BMS system in EV application
  • Accustomed to working in projects
  • M.Sc. in engineering or equivalent

Additional Important Requirements:
  • Spoken and written English
  • ISO awareness
