Our Technology team manages the development and maintenance of our global connectivity platform – and your experience is needed.
We are now looking for an experienced Application Developer who would like to work with development practices for 400+ developers. This means hands-on support to new colleagues as well as continuously evaluating our recommended way of working and preferred toolset.

The role

• Be responsible for our development practices, i e how to set up a computer to be used for development work in Volvo Group Connected Solutions platform and services.
• Drive continuous improvement of the way of working for better quality, functionality, cost effectiveness, etc.
• Keep track of and evaluate new tools and techniques to be included in the preferred toolset.
• Continuously reflect upon how we are doing things and where we can improve and make sure that is reflected in our roadmap.

Your profile

We are looking for a person who would like to use their experience as a SW developer to focus on improving the everyday work situation for their colleagues in a hands-on way. This requires good subject matter knowledge as well as pedagogical skills and a true drive to understand and remove obstacles to an efficient way of working.

Your personality is your major reason for success, but we think you have:

• A university degree in software engineering, computer science or similar
• Several years’ worth of working experience as a software developer, but we also recognize experience through own hobby projects
• Skilled in Java, Linux and basic knowledge in network techniques
• Knowledge in asynchronous programming, JMS, ActiveMQ, microservice architecture, cloud services and test automation.
• Fluent in English - both written and spoken
• Valid work-permit for Sweden, if not EU-citizen
