Digital Design Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and creative Digital Experience Coordinator to join our team at Digital & IT with the task to drive the further development of our Volvo Penta Design System. The Design System plays an important role for us when creating great and consistent digital experiences for our different target groups. You are passionate of working with optimization of digital experiences and feel excited of being in the middle of things where you coordinate activities, make decisions, and make sure that things get done. Your co-workers feel heard and empowered with you as a leader as you support and guides them in their work.

We believe that you are a person who have at least 4 years’ experience of working with UI/UX design and using or developing a design system(s). In addition, you also have experience of leadership or team coordination, e.g. project management, in your background.

Tasks – Design System
  • Design System Onboarding – To onboard new co-workers to the digital design world of Volvo with walkthrough in the Volvo Penta Design System site and in Figma.
  • Design System Backlog – To make sure that the design system backlog is up to date and that all the activities within the backlog are managed in a good way. The design system backlog is a tool used to coordinate activities regarding the creation of digital experiences. The purpose is to enable a more efficient way of working by sharing information about ongoing activities with our teams, and by increasing the awareness on what assets that are available to reuse. For instance, it is used for knowledge sharing activities such as what user interfaces or components that are planned, released or in production. It is also used for collaboration activities in between different teams or for strategic activities that may have impact on design activities.
  • Coordination & Support – To be there for the UI and UX designers when help and support is needed and to make sure that the design community of Volvo Penta have a good collaboration.
  • UI contribution process – To make sure that designers have a clear way of contributing to the design system with new components, ideas, or feedback.
  • Figma Access Management – To manage all Figma access requests at Volvo Penta and making sure that all people who needs Figma access gets it. This is managed together with a cross-functional team of people from the other Volvo BA: s.
  • Design System Site – To continuously update and keep the information in the Design System SharePoint site relevant and to inform people in the organization about it.
  • Collaborations:
    • Development – To make sure that the collaboration between designers and developer is well aligned and structured together with the owner of the react component library
    • CX – To keep well aligned with our digital CX lead to make sure that we make smart prioritizations based on our customer’s needs.
    • Volvo Group – To keep aligned with the Volvo Group Design System team and make sure that we are following the Volvo Core Experience and Volvo Penta Brand Guidelines.
