Intern: People & Culture / Human Resources (Fall 2022)

About the Position

The People and Culture intern will help drive the mission of Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP) by working with leaders and employees to ensure GTP is a great place to work.
This role is hands-on and provides support in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, learning and development, and ad hoc projects as the needs of the business dictate.

Duration:

This internship will begin on August 22, 2022, and will be based in Greensboro, NC. The specific work schedule will be flexible but agreed upon with the hiring manager. The ideal candidate should have availability to work 25-30 hours.

In this role, you can expect to:
  • Support the Head of People & Culture for Group Trucks Purchasing NA
  • Promote employee engagement with the coordination of team-building events and employee recognition
  • Provide support with recruitment while driving efficiencies in the processes
  • Work with department leaders to uphold Volvo’s culture
  • Assist in optimizing talent with the coordination of behavioral assessments and employee engagement survey
  • Promote and drive excitement of Group Trucks Purchasing North America
  • Drive the development of quality content to ensure new hires understand GTP’s systems, processes, and procedures

  • Self-starter, who champions new ideas and takes initiative to drive next steps
Requirements:
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, at an accredited school and must have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  • Applicants should be interested in pursuing a professional career in Human Resources
  • Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
