Business Control Powertrain Engineering is a part of the Controlling & Product Finance team in Volvo Group Trucks Technology. We are the Business Partners of Powertrain Engineering, by providing business analysis and financial direction tailored to optimize the performance of the functions and R&D portfolios. We are a global team of 14 controllers whereof 7 in Gothenburg and the other 7 in Lyon, Hagerstown, Curitiba and Bangalore.

Role and Responsibilities

You are part of a team of professional business partners supporting Powertrain Engineering, a global organization with around 2000 people. You oversee financial reporting and analysis for R&D, both from a project, as well as from a department OPEX perspective. With an open and positive attitude, you drive to improve! Your ability to communicate and to work with people on different levels in the organization is essential.

Your main focus will be to:
  • Support R&D projects in making cost estimates and analysis in front of business decisions
  • Perform internal invoicing, accruals and some other transactional activities related to projects
  • Provide expense rolling forecasts
  • Secure month end closing deliveries
  • Work with continuous improvements, secure continued digitalization
  • Ad hoc financial analysis
  • Be an active member of the global controlling team
To be successful in your new role we want you have the following experience/capabilities:
  • Business Controller position: Minimum two years of relevant experience and a strong will to develop within Business Control
  • Senior Business Controller position: Minimum five years of controlling experience
  • Education with a relevant finance degree
  • IT proficient – Good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Power BI and/or SAP R/3 is a merit.
  • Strong analytical mind, skilled at analyzing and presenting numerical data
  • Digital literacy - finding it easy to adapt to new IT tools and systems. Engaged in driving automation using digital tools.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to build trust
  • Action oriented
  • Fluent in English
