This position will report to the Group Manager for Vehicle Dynamics in Bangalore.

Responsibilities
  • Perform functional development meaning requirement breakdown, software design, documentation, implementation, testing and verification
  • Specify system/functional requirements
  • Understanding the ECU state flow machine and the behavior of the system in different vehicle modes
  • Reviewing the signal definition
  • Playing an active role in benchmarking activities and performing gap analysis
  • Drive and deliver road maps, strategies, technical investigations and system designs to clarify and set the path going forward
  • To be able to analyze automotive software for functional safety standards such as ISO26262 wrt different ASIL levels
  • Develop and maintain work products/ SW defined by the safety standards
  • Organize/participate in technical discussions with suppliers
  • Test, tune and document function parameters, for each variant
  • Trouble shooting and provide support to aftermarket and production plants
  • Ensure to achieve the desired required Software quality in adherance to requirements and safety levels
  • Handle software compliance against safety standards, desired outputs and publish anomalies/problem reports and status reports
  • Collaborate with the HW teams in enabling hardware verification, test planning and achieve desired test coverage.
  • Develop test plans and verify new software functionality including non safety requirements
  • Be Proactive in collaborating with product architecture and software teams to better understand the SW Safety needs.
  • Drive technical concepts and ensure supplier agreements are in place.
  • Basic understanding of durability and reliability test requirements - understanding of test reports
  • Define and follow the validation plan review with suppliers
  • Participate in project risk analyzes. DFMEA, SFMEA, etc.
  • Drive critical issues problem-solving in collaboration with the suppliers and within the team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement on tools, work methods and the development process
  • Providing the Innovation / Unique ideas towards product/process.
  • Playing an active role in benchmarking activities and performing gap analysis.
  • Guide team members in daily operational deliveries.
  • Basic Agile methodology/Software understanding of requirements
  • Detailing and specifying requirements to both internal & external suppliers
  • Validating and verifying that we meet applicable regulations for current and future years.
  • Covering applicable market-specific and customer-specific needs.
  • Developing solutions that are futuristic and scalable while keeping low costs a priority
  • By innovative thinking lead and secure IP and product releases within Vehicle Dynamics
  • Network across the organization, as well as influencing the work in the other sites
Qualifications:
  • BE or M.Tech in Mechatronics or equivalent
  • 6-8 years of experience in an automotive domain only (OEM/Tier-1’s).
  • Knowledge of EE architecture.
  • Knowledge in Embedded hardware design & development
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of product development cycle (DVP).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SAFe Agile Way of Working and mindset is a plus.
  • Experience with Simulink, Matlab, CANalyzer, UDS, J1939, J1537 as well as rapid prototyping and systems development principles
  • Good knowledge in Physics, Mechatronic, Mechanical engineering, Control engineering, Vehicle dynamics, System modeling, Functional requirements and Electronics
Vehicle instrumentation and testing
  • Knowledge of safety engineering processes (Hazard and Operability Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, etc.)
  • Practical experience from other related standards e.g. SOTIF is a merit.
  • Experience in developing electronic or software systems, preferable with a combination of functional-, system-, hardware and software development for embedded systems.
  • Knowledge on Functional Safety ISO 26262/ ASPICE.
  • Good Knowledge in Regulation Requirements with respect to Braking across Global.
  • Prior experience working with ABS, EBS, systems as a function owners are preferable.
