Business Controller

GTO Service Market Logistics (SML) APAC is a part of Group Trucks Operations, being globally active in more than 40 locations delivering world-class operational excellence for our customers based on smart logistics solutions we have. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands.

SML APAC region is operating from six sites: Singapore, Australia, South Korea, China, Indonesia, and India. We are a team of approximately 300 engaged colleagues doing our most every day to support our customers. REPORTING LINE
This role will have a direct reporting line to the Director, DC Balikpapan, and be part of the DC Balikpapan Management Team. At the same time, this role will also have a functional line reporting to the Director, Business Control, SML APAC, and be part of the SML APAC Business Controller community.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Controller, Distribution Center Balikpapan, Indonesia
  • Act as Business Controller for the selected Distribution Center (DC Balikpapan, Indonesia)
  • Assure quality in month-end closing and financial reporting process
  • Develop business plan/forecast and drive local management to achieve the business target
  • Together with DC Director, drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
  • Develop yearly standard cost/surcharge and communicate with local Business Areas
  • Being a proactive finance business partner and able to bridge SML with other TD/BA/GFs
  • Drive local internal control compliance
  • Drive financial investigation and find a business solution in compliance with the financial principles. Able to give advice back to the operation, working together with the operation towards improvement
  • Together with DC Director, drive the Strategy Roadmap activities and its implementation

SML APAC Business Controller (regional responsibilities)
  • Drive internal control improvements across the region and ensure that the business processes are aligned with the internal control principles
  • Drive a quarterly balance sheet review with all sites within APAC
  • Control and follow up IT-related costs (including IT group allocation) and IT investments
  • Drive the smart analytics initiatives in the SML APAC Business Controller community, including BI development and office automation
  • Create financial communication material. Provide key stakeholders with necessary financial-related materials
  • Improvement of processes, methods and systems according to Business Control targets and strategies

  • You have good analytical skills and is able to see the bigger picture and understand the consequences of actions in day-to-day operations. You are able to translate the operations into financials

  • You have a high degree of flexibility and ability to work simultaneously with a wide range of tasks in a structured manner and deliver according to the deadline

  • You should possess professional business communication skills, able to engage and drive people from different backgrounds

YOUR QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCES
  • University degree in accounting / financial management / business administration
  • Controlling / accounting background with experience in internal control
  • Knowledge in SAP and accounting standard (IFRS)
  • Business acumen (including inventory management and cost controlling)
  • Experience with smart analytics tools (such as Power BI, QlikSense, Power Automate, Microsoft 365, etc.) is a strength. A willingness to learn and develop a career in the digital journey is required
  • Proficiency in English is required, both written and spoken
