Senior Automation Analyst, Volvo Financial Services

The Global Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services is located in Greensboro, North Carolina where the President of the Business Area, the finance department, and the functional leaders for credit/risk management, communications, human resources, and legal are located.

This position will be part of the Global Headquarters Financial Planning & Analysis team. The scope of the role extends geographically through support of nearly 50 countries with significant cross-functional engagement (i.e., partnering with sales, operations, risk, accounting, capital markets, marketing, IT, etc.). The ideal candidate possesses the ability to extract knowledge and insight from a set of financial and statistical data, can communicate effectively with colleagues from a variety of cultures, and has an enthusiastic attitude with the capacity to quickly fill in any gaps he or she may have relative to the experience requirements listed below. This person would also have an interest in pursuing future international projects and assignments.

The Senior Automation Analyst will report to the Visualization and Automation Manager. The location for this role will be one of the hub locations for VFS in Europe (Sweden, Poland, UK, Germany, or France).

Core Responsibilities:

• Act as a strategic partner/consultant, responding to and communicating thoroughly and efficiently to both internal and external customer requests.
• Optimize the end-to-end Operational Control and Internal Control Review Process from Planning, Fieldwork, Communication of Observations, Reporting and Follow-Up activities by designing automation solutions using the latest technologies or tools.
• Work with analytics practitioners around VFS to develop and share best practices in areas of robotic process automation, scripting, and leveraging data lake technology to automate manual processes.
• Participate in business development opportunities, proposing solutions that will enable our business partners to identify, prioritize and automate their current processes to be more efficient
• Automate the data collection process for the control self-assessment questionnaires process including Internal Control Framework Questionnaires, VICS, and Fraud Self-Assessment
• Provide analytical solutions and dashboard reports for the data collected from the self-assessment questionnaires to improve the visibility and risk alert for senior management and key stakeholders in the Regions and in the Local Markets
• Optimize the Operational Control deficiency lifecycle management process with latest technology solution to improve the current Deficiency Database, Tracking, Recording, Reporting and Dashboard analysis
• Develop test cases and test scrips to automate the Internal & Operational Control testing procedures to reduce operational risks over large data volumes, to ensure that controls are properly operated and cover all the critical applications and business processes
• Use techniques like AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Machine Learning on transactional data to find variances between actual and expected results in test scripts
• Participate in business intelligence initiatives in the markets, regions, and Global HQ.
• Ensure VFS financial policies and procedures are controlled, tracked, reported, and analyzed in a timely manner.
• Ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of the finance department, Chief Credit Officer, Communications VP, etc.
• Travel requirement: limited in the near-term although international needs may arise once sufficient experience has been obtained.

Education & Professional Experience

• BS/BA in computer science, engineering, statistics, accounting, finance, or a related field required.
• Functional analyst who has designed and implemented new technology-based solutions.
• 5+ years of experience in process automation, financial modeling and planning, business analysis, data analytics, and/or a similar data-driven role.

Competencies and Skills:

• Expert level experience using SQL to extract and transform large and complex datasets into more easily consumable formats.
• Experience using AI and Machine Learning technology in financial services applications is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense.
• Ability to understand the business process and design process flow diagrams.
• Experience collaborating with business partners, and IT department to provide a strong oversight to support and maintain scripts in production ensuring high resilience and availability.
• Technical aptitude to learn new software quickly.
• Experience with innovative problem solving and strong analytical and quantitative abilities – especially in the fields of finance, statistics, and/or mathematical modeling.
• Familiarity with the financial services industry is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve goals with minimum supervision.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English; additional languages a plus.
