What You Will Be Doing:

The Human Resources (HR) Communications Intern position offers the opportunity for growth and development through various local and global partnerships, providing an excellent foundation to begin your journey in the professional world as a meaningful change agent. This position will enable you to build relationships with key stakeholders in various functions such as HR, Talent, Total Rewards, and Corporate Communications.

In this role, you can expect to:
  • Partner closely with cross functional stakeholders to drive communication plans through completion
  • Develop and implement initiatives to raise the external profile of the Volvo Group, our mission and Employee Value Proposition
  • Support the planning, editing, and writing of communications that build engagement and a positive, transparent culture
  • Monitor KPI’s for engagement with employee communication touchpoints to guide future decisions about communication and engagement events
  • Identify opportunities to enhance communication practices internally and externally
  • Support in the planning and execution of virtual and in-person events
Who You Are - Key Qualifications:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong ability to translate ideas into clear and compelling messages with superb attention to detail
  • Savvy about social media and current communication technologies
  • Customer service and employee focused
  • Awareness of inclusive communications and accessibility best practices
  • Ability to perform a wide range of tasks, responding to changes in direction and priorities, and accepting new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments
  • A focus on creativity to reframe traditional patterns of thinking to apply new and evolving ideas, methods, and designs to drive continuous improvement
  • Self-starter; who champions new ideas and takes initiative to drive next steps
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite applications
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
Requirements:
  • Must be currently pursuing a degree and remain fully enrolled in program during the duration of the internship
  • Preferred Degrees:  Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Human Resources, or another related field
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
