Senior Manager Portfolio Delivery and Governance

The primary emphasis of the Senior Manager Portfolio Delivery & Governance is to support the alignment of Digital Platforms with business strategy, manage financials, metrics, and communications; all with an Agile Mindset and focus on process optimization. This role will have a close working relationship with the Digital Platform Owners, Product Owners and Lead Agile Coaches as well as with global and regional leadership roles. Together you will continuously optimize VFS IT investment portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in VFS’ transformation journey towards the adoption of product management and enterprise-wide agile ways of working.

Additionally, the Senior Manager Portfolio Delivery & Governance will be well versed in the financial services, including industry developments, competitors, product offerings and its interfaces with a global Digital & IT function. You are an accomplished Agile Portfolio Manager with Agile and Product portfolio management experience that has contributed towards the success of Product and cross-product initiatives through Lean Portfolio Management within a Product-led organization. You have an advanced level of English which you can deploy in verbal and written communications and thru presentations to senior stakeholders.
You will be part of the Digital Transformation Office management team and report to the Vice-President, Digital Transformation Office, VFS Digital & IT. The following locations are possible for this position: Sweden (Goteborg) and USA (Greensboro, NC).
Primary Responsibilities:
• Liaise with VFS Business strategy representatives and Business Development Office to capture and understand the VFS business priorities and strategic objectives
• Design and orchestrate the multi-year planning and budget process for VFS Digital & IT, to secure that strategic initiatives are captured and oversee the development of execution plans in alignment with VFS strategic objectives.
• Partner with the Platform Owners, Business Owners, global and regional leadership on management of Platform financials and information needed for Digital CAPEX processes
• Manage Platform funded-team budget, financials and metrics which includes managing the financial data and conversations for multiple funding sources for our platforms. Coordinating work toward financial deadlines and proactively ensuring that the platform’s financial plans are congruent with submissions. Helping the team identify financial risks and plans for mitigation.
• Develop, promote, maintain and govern standards and tools for portfolio and project management, with the goal of delivering every initiative in line with agreed business outcomes.
• Follow through the business development lifecycle with stakeholders to ensure alignment on market product/service expansion and check the operating plans feasibility for Digital & IT and secure functional sign offs
• Providing input and execution into strategic frameworks and templates
• Collaborating with product and platforms teams to gather key information for the Digital Transformation Office to share with Executive Teams
• Ensure visibility of the plans for key dates & deliverables
• Monitoring and sharing outcome-based Product & Release Metrics with executive leaders and key stakeholders
• Managing and communicating all risks, dependencies and escalations at the Product/Portfolio level
• Facilitating all Product Portfolio-level ceremonies (i.e. Value Stream & Roadmapping exercises, Product Demos, Creative Reviews, Product Syncs, etc.)
• Coordinating all blockers and impediments on operational process at the Product/Portfolio level
• Driving continuous improvement across the Platform Portfolio level
• Monitoring the health of the Product Roadmap (i.e. ensures there is a documented, well-groomed, prioritized Roadmap of Features for the next Quarter)
• Actively managing the expectations of executive leaders and key stakeholders
• Leading initiatives for transforming the organization from Project to Product
• Represent VFS on various Volvo Group fora and Committees
Education and Professional Experience
• University degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information technology.
• 10 years of recent progressive experience in the fields of Strategy and Portfolio Management, ideally acquired in a Management Consulting firm or organization operating in Financial Services (banking, insurance or asset management)
• 7+ years of experience working in the field of Information Technology as a Product Manager, Project Manager, Business Analyst or similar role
• 5+ years of experience as a hands-on Agile Practitioner (Agile Product Manager, Agile Coach or Senior Scrum Master)
• 3+ years of experience driving Agile adoption across multiple teams and conducting product-wide retrospectives to drive continuous improvement of the end-to-end software development and delivery process
• 3+ years of experience using collaboration tools to measure and report on product performance and manage the health of the product roadmap (i.e. Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, Mural, etc.)

Competencies and Skills
Essential:
• Knowledge of Agile Delivery Frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, SAFe and other Lean-Agile Frameworks
• Solid understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) and Product Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, conflict resolution skills, and Executive-level presentation skills
• Financial acumen in budget planning, forecasting, business case development and trending portfolio financials
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including strong facilitation and presentation skills
• Strong proficiency in PowerPoint
• Ability to engage, collaborate and influence at all levels (team, product, stakeholder and executive)

• Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies and the strategic use of technology to grow a business
• Ability to explain technology solutions in business terms
• Ability to think outside the box and continuously learn, change and evolve
• Proven ability to coach, mentor, motivate and empower multiple teams simultaneously with a goal to drive optimum performance, efficiency and productivity
• Extensive experience creating solutions and workshops for geographically distributed teams
• Experience working in the Financial Services industry
• CSM, PMI-ACP, SPC
