We are looking for a IT and Systems Developer to join our IT team based at our site in Motherwell. This is a new role and offers a chance to make a real difference to our operation!


The successful candidate will work with IT and business stakeholders to understand business needs, validate requirements and transform them into robust solutions following Agile methodology. Other key duties of the role include;

• Evaluate and select sound technical applications design alternatives to meet business requirements
• Work closely with the team to provide input on appropriate solutions that are consistent with current reporting standards and processes
• Perform data model design and implementation using the Qlik associative data model
• Integrate reporting components from multiple data sources
• Create and deploy Qlik ETL scripts to load and build the data model and associated QVD’s
• Working with end-users, to develop comprehensive test case plans. Ensure thorough unit testing and QA transition
• Document solution and execute knowledge transfer for application.
• Provide support for developed solutions.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with;

• Degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience in writing and debugging SQL queries
• Experience with a data analytics platform preferred (Qlik Sense or Power BI)
• Practical experience of database design and data transformation, supported by ETL processes
• Experience of planning, developing, deploying IT solutions & systems
• Experience of working in a customer-focused IT environment
• Proven ability to define, follow and implement to agreed deliverables, timelines, and standards
• Customer focus & strong customer service ethic
• Organised and flexible to changing business priorities
• Excellent communication and relationship skills
• Inquisitive, experienced problem solver with a performance MI background
• Good numeracy with the ability to analyse data
• Willingness to take ownership of issues, ensure all interested parties are kept informed of progress and deliver robust solutions
