You will be part of GTO Cab and Chassis team where trust, curiosity, and performance are important cornerstones.
Our team consists of highly engaged and talented colleagues located in France. Our target is to secure and co-develop the product-Process solutions covering Bourg-en-Bresse and Blainville assembly plants products.

The co-development will be carried out in close cooperation with Colleagues in the Production Sites but also with Product development and shared to your counterparts in GTO (USA, Sweden and India). The collaboration possibilities are boundless.

Job Description:

If yes, your responsibility will be to co-develop, verify, and approve all product modifications related to the Heavy Duty Renault products.
On top of that, you will support the plant for GTO and in collaboration with Group Trucks Technology.
Being actor in this team you will use your engineering skills all along the different phases: functional specification, design, development, validation, and industrialization before the deployment of these deliverables in the production line.
Specific tasks may involve troubleshooting and investigation on some product modifications since your development will go in parallel with product changes already planned in the product roadmap.
You will be asked to work with Agile processes and engineering standards to maintain efficiency, ensure the best possible performance, quality, and robustness of our products.
As a Virtual Manufacturing Engineer, your role is to assist Product Preparation using Virtual Manufacturing systems (including VR and AR).

Mission:

The Virtual Manufacturing Engineer mission is to assist Manufacturing Engineering community providing Product and Process data preparation in Virtual Manufacturing systems. Effect is a more efficient Technical Preparation in Product and Industrial Projects for Manufacturing Engineering community.

As an extension of its core activity, the Virtual Manufacturing Engineer mission is to assist Manufacturing Engineering community performing Assembly Digital Mock-Up (ADMU) heavy simulations and supporting Virtual Build Process reviews.

The Virtual Manufacturing Engineer supports GTO Quality & Engineering in promoting usage of Virtual Manufacturing systems (including VR and AR) in Product Preparation, also developing those systems and their related processes with D&IT Group.

The aim of this mission is also to define ways to improve the collaboration between the design office and the methods office around digital environments (CAD).

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Product and Process data preparation in Virtual Manufacturing systems:
    • For both Global and Local Product Projects, update and maintain the CAD mBOM (manufacturing Bill Of Material) in Virtual Manufacturing systems, following Projects inputs
    • For Local Product Projects, work with GTO stakeholders to update and maintain Process Plans in Virtual Manufacturing systems, following Projects inputs
    • Participate to regular synchronization meetings with TPEs and VM Specialists to retrieve their requests in term of Product and Process data preparation
  • Perform Assembly Digital Mock Up (ADMU) heavy simulations:
    • Perform Product Assembly simulations for both Global and Local Product Projects: complex assemblies kinematics, dynamic simulations, clash and proximity analysis
    • Perform Ergonomic simulations regarding Volvo ergonomics standards for both Global and Local Product Projects
    • Report conclusions to stakeholders (X-Functional)
  • Support Virtual Build Process reviews:
    • Prepare virtual and material data for Virtual Reviews: scene preparation, sequences, and animations. This is based on Product data, Process information, Layout, and Tools & Equipment data
    • Support Virtual Reviews run through technical preparation done and quality checked in virtual lab (or similar facility) equipment and tools. Operational support to run through the different topics
  • Promoting usage of Virtual Manufacturing systems (including VR and AR) in Product Preparation, developing those systems and their related processes:
    • As a Local User:
      • Document systems issues
      • Document systems improvement and ergonomic enhancement ideas
      • Document processes improvement ideas
      • Document good practices
      • Be the local coach for Virtual Manufacturing systems
      • Support systems Business Acceptance Tests
      • Participate in Global VM Networks
    • Work with VM MTMs, Global Key User and Local Users in improving Virtual Manufacturing activities:
      • Support defining systems and processes priorities
      • Share knowledge and support identifying best practices
  • Support continuous improvement activities:
    • Analyze in detail the situation on the quality of digital routing data (flexible medias)
    • Manage joint continuous improvement workshops between the design office and the methods office
    • Study and propose ways to improve the collaboration using Virtual Reality software
    • Promote and communicate around the use and benefits of Virtual & Augmented Reality

Competencies:

Education / Training: Last year education in Master’s degree of science
Experience: Preferably automotive experience in truck industry

Technical competencies:
  • PLM system: PTC Windchill
  • Simulation systems: PTC CreoView, FCC IPS Path Planner, FCC IPS IMMA
  • CAD tools: PTC Creo Parametric, DS Catia

Manufacturing Engineering competencies:
  • Product / Process technical knowledge
