You will be a Bodies & Transformation buyer within Customer Adaptation. The bodies & transformation segments represent everything Volvo is putting on top of our rigid chassis, such as tippers, boxes, cranes, hook-lifts and mixers. They are a key success factor to our customers and sometimes even more expensive than the actual truck they are mounted on. You will have a key role in making sure our customers get a complete vehicle that meet their tough standards, contributing to customer satisfaction and success. You will have colleagues working spread across the world and work in different networks, teams and groups. In this way you will have interactions locally, continentally and globally. You will be part of the Adaptation – Bodies & Transformation team within the Uptime & Adaptation (U&A) department. The department and team has responsibility for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), with personnel sitting mainly in Gothenburg (Sweden) and Lyon (France). We are operating in small teams with a large degree of freedom. This allows us to reach our targets with speed and agility. We support each other, everyone is contributing to build the Uptime & Adaption future.

Uptime & Adaptation is a global organization within Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP) who support Service Parts Purchasing and Vehicle Adaptation Purchasing.
This is your mission
You will be leading the purchasing activities within your portfolio to maximize customer satisfaction.
That means that you will secure price and delivery of bodies and transformation linked to our customer requests. You will manage and develop your supplier base to meet our high requirements, as well as scout and seek for new suppliers that can bring creative and innovative solutions, contributing to customer success. You will lead the negotiations in order to secure the best value for Volvo and our customers considering all aspects; QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, Risk). Your work is done in close collaboration with our brands Volvo Trucks and Renault, and Group Trucks Operations (GTO) and Group Trucks Technology (GTT).
But you will not only be focused on your day-to-day business. You will drive a work together with our stakeholders to develop complete vehicle concepts with increased customer value. These concepts become a part of Volvo standard offering and leverage our business, providing multiple benefits for our customers. In this way you will actually contribute to increasing Volvo market share by showcasing the most competitive total offerings on the market.

  • Master degree in Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 3 years’ of previous buyer experience, automotive is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to be effective in a variety of presentation settings (English)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Holistic view and ability to be pragmatic
  • Sense of customer service and integrity
  • Curiosity for new technologies and business trends
  • High degree of autonomy
  • Good networking skills and ability to drive stakeholders
  • Ability to challenge, convince and make decisions
  • Ability to deliver on time with team spirit skills
