POSITION DUTIES: As part of the Quality Engineering in Group Trucks Operations the role is secure that the company delivers a product that is verified and aligned with the Volvo Production System and Future Factory Concept. This position will coordinate and trigger activities of Engineers to secure product changes are introduced in the industrial system without disturbance. Specific duties include creating virtual manufacturing simulations (Product Assembly, Ergonomics, Tooling & Equipment along with Kinematic analysis) to propose improvement of assembly sequences and overall manufacturing processes. Establish time studies using MTCM's and JIRA during early project phases with ongoing product development activities to improve head count to build the product. Identify and resolve quality issues by performing root cause analysis and validating proposed solutions to avoid late design changes. Work with cross functional teams to lend expertise for new products, process, material flow and support tooling design activities to ensure launch of new products into the Volvo factories. Perform safety and ergonomics analysis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master of Science degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and 3 years of automotive engineering experience. Employer will accept a BS plus 5 years of experience in lieu of an MS +3

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Proficient on CAD tools like CreoView and/or Catia. Prior experience conducting virtual manufacturing studies to assess components assembly sequence as well as assembly line impacts for new components during design phase. Proven experience preparing Technical Preparation documentation. Understanding concepts such as Time Studies, Line Balancing, OSHA regulations and Six Sigma concept.
