Engineer – Air Intake System

Job Profile and skills
  • You shall be working on Air intake system including Air filter technologies, working closely with suppliers in the development and validation of air filters & air intake system.
  • You should have sound knowledge of automotive domain and on air intake systems.
  • Knowledge on air intake system
    • Functionalities and failure modes
    • Serviceability requirements
    • Design & development of air intake system
  • CAD skills - Proficient with Creo surface modeling -
    • To be able to build packaging geometries and models in Creo surfacing
    • Should be able to propose Geometry changes / Markups on the supplier CAD models
  • Manage and work with large architectural / packaging assemblies in CAD
  • Should be able to handle and manage information from and to supplier , be part of supplier discussions and RFQ process
  • Should have good understanding of the product development process in automotive
  • Should be able to work on advanced engineering and technologies.
  • Work on assigned tasks and report to global engineering / technology community , senior /lead engineers within team.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of Volvo documentation systems / tools like KOLA would be considered as an asset..
Qualification and skills:
  1. General awareness of the product development life cycle and change management activities for maintenance are required for this role.
  2. Automotive domain knowledge with working experience on air intake systems & technologies.
  3. Good knowledge in / fundamentals of design & engineering.
  4. Exposure to / understanding of CFD simulation will be added advantage
  5. Good knowledge on materials and manufacturing process – Sheet metal, plastics and composite materials
  6. Basic knowledge on Tool technology – Stamping, Blow moulding, Roto-moulding, injection molding
  7. Hands on with Creo parametric with Part, Sheet metal and surfacing modules
  8. Should have worked with handling large assemblies with Creo Parametric / Creo view or Mcad
  9. Exposure to PDM and PLM will be added advantage
  10. Knowledge of Volvo documentation systems / tools like KOLA would be considered as an asset..

Soft Skills:
  • English: Fluent.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural global environment.
  • Willingness to learn and develop your own skills and abilities.
  • You must be someone who is a natural team player and interested in customer needs.
