We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner/Scheduler to join our Production Control team based in Motherwell. The purpose of the role is to manage the planning of suppliers to ensure all raw material parts are delivered on time in the correct quantities and the scheduling of internal manufactured parts through the machine shop to ensure all machined parts / sub-assemblies & assemblies are available when required by internal & external customers.

The successful candidate will schedule material for the shop floor and control materials to and from our Sub Contractors. They will be responsible for supplier management, releasing purchase orders, monitoring schedules and expediting overdue material. The role is also responsible for ensuring all relevant system are updated and working with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operation and management of the materials process. This includes potential problems and working with suppliers to resolve any issues with delivering material to agreed deadlines.

To be successful in this role, you will have;
  • Experience of working with MRP systems within a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years demonstrable experience of plant scheduling
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats
  • Understanding of manufacturing shop floor processes
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages including Excel
  • Understanding of MRP systems and techniques
  • Understanding of SAP control system
  • The ability to work independent and as a collaborative team player
  • Committed to continuous improvement
  • Data Accuracy with an eye for detail
  • Highly motivated and results driven

Starting salary scale begins at £26,000 per annum dependent on experience.
