Mainframe Application Developer

Core Responsibilities
• Work on support tickets/incidents created by application teams for technical support.
• Provide Tools support to application teams
• Provide Training and Coaching to application teams.
• Create and share best practices and propose improvements to application teams
• Testing and Support during software upgrades
• Research about new Tools and methodologies for future with the feasibility of implementation in Volvo, Group IT.
• Ensure compliance with relevant IT Services processes, methods and tools, and business processes.

Technical Requirements
Mandatory Skills
• IBM Mainframe, COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS DB/DC
• VSAM, ENDEVOR, IBM RDz/IDz, DEBUG Tool, Platinum
• Excellent Problem solving skills is required.

• ADDI (Application Discovery & Delivery Intelligence)
• CICS
• XTool, EGL
• IDMS
• HTML, Javascript, XML
• File Manager, Fault Analyzer
• Eazytrieve (EPLUS)
• Service Now (SNOW)
• Architecture and knowledge about VGTA (Volvo Group Target Architecture)
• z/OS base skills
• Knowledge of using Scrum / Agile methodology

Required Competence
• Over all 10+ years of hands on experience as application developer in Mandatory Skillsets.
• Ability to provide estimations and adhere to delivery timelines
• Organized approach for driving activities and tasks associated
• Ability to work under challenging, demanding and changing conditions
• Need to be innovative, self-driven, have strong technical focus & interest in combination with customer oriented attitude
• Ability to technically guide and support team members within area of responsibility
• Need to have good written and verbal Communication skills
• Need to have excellent presentation skills.
• Contribute to a positive team spirit and take responsibility for results
• Ability to cross-skill and up-skill based on delivery need
• Suggest ideas and actively contribute in relevant organizational activities
• Flexible to work in Maintenance/Support as well as Development Project Activities
