System Design Engineer @Electromobility

About the role

We are offering you an exciting opportunity to work with completely new technology and help develop full-electric propulsion systems for a range of different vehicles and machinery. As System Design Engineer, you will be joining our Electro Propulsion department: a global team who are all passionate about technology and changing the world. Here, you will work with system changes and new features to our electric driveline. You will be responsible for defining requirements and working with the electric propulsion management system to develop solutions meeting those requirements. The Volvo Group has high ambitions when it comes to sustainability and CO2 emissions. By playing such an important role in the company’s electromobility development, you will be a key contributor to achieving those targets.

We are looking for a

… structured and creative colleague, effective at planning and prioritising tasks and willing to challenge the current norms. We believe you are a good communicator with solid technical leadership, passionate about networking across functions to achieve shared objectives.

Requirements:
  • Master of Science in Electronics, Data science, Software engineering, Mechatronics or similar.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.
  • 6-8 years’ experience working with embedded software design and development or embedded system design and development.
  • Plus: documented experience working in an agile development environment or from working with functional safety in automotive products and applications.
  • Extended experience with propulsion systems in battery electric vehicles and experience from traction voltage systems/components is also valued.
