Total Rewards Specialist

About the Role
The Total Rewards Specialist actively contributes to the delivery of a comprehensive organization-wide total rewards program that supports effective retention and engagement and aligns with the organization's objectives of a competitive rewards program. The primary focus will be administering compensation programs and processes with a secondary focus on benefits support.

  • Assist with scheduled review of current pay structure to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Participate in the administration of annual Total Rewards programs, including annual merit cycles, benefits open enrollment and variable incentive administration.
  • Supports implementation and administration of compensation and benefit programs.
  • Compile data for annual audits, filings and other initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborates with HR Business Partners to coach and provide consultation and recommendations on the market analysis and pay structure and compensation.
  • Create/update/finalize work instructions with new and improved process improvements and enhancements.
  • Consult and provide guidance to the organization on Total Reward policies, practices, programs, philosophy, and compliance requirements.
  • Support the Benefits team as needed with projects such as annual Open Enrollment. Complete cross-training and provide back-up when staffing needs dictate it.
  • Participate in market surveys; conduct competitive market analyses including conducting job evaluations.
  • Support and backup in the 401k and pension process.
  • Communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Proactively and continuously identify and implement process improvements.
  • Resolve challenges related to process and procedures, and complex claim issues.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience is delivered through effective teamwork, a commitment to responsiveness and focusing on our customer's needs.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
  • You have experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance culture where the business is constantly evolving.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ability to analyze complex questions and determine the best course of actions or recommendation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • You’re a strong multi-tasker with an exceptional ability to prioritize and manage time effectively – you naturally focus on the right things and can seamlessly move between projects & tasks, without losing sight of what's important to do.
  • You work with a sense of urgency, a capacity for accurate decisions and the ability to exercise sound judgement in a demanding work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment and collaborate remotely.
  • Working knowledge of reward principles and practices, and state and federal government regulations pertaining to HR Total Rewards (i.e., DOL, FLSA ERISA).
  • Relevant and demonstrated working knowledge and experience working with job evaluations, market pricing tools/systems, and salary survey participation in a diversified business environment.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and attributes.
  • You have 4+ years of experience with concentrated compensation/benefits.
  • Experience with SAP and Office 365 with advanced Excel skills.
