Senior Functional Safety Engineer-ADAS

We are a team of highly skilled and motivated persons driving the development of our ADAS systems including multiple aspects of functional safety for the complete life cycle of our global range of products.
The team is now looking to find a talent with great experience in functional safety development and with the ability to hands on support our product development in accordance with ISO 26262.
Your Role
As Senior Functional Safety Engineer, you will be involved in product development activities where your main responsibility will be to both drive the overall activities and knowledge sharing in the Volvo Group functional safety journey, as well as providing hands on support to development teams and suppliers. This support will be ranging from planning of development to secure safety, down to leading and performing functional safety activities in accordance to comply with ISO26262.
Work involvement
  • To be able to analyze automotive software for functional safety standards such as ISO26262 wrt different ASIL levels
  • Develop and maintain work products/ SW defined by the safety standards
  • Ensure to achieve the desired required Software quality in adherance to requirements and safety levels
  • Handle software compliance against safety standards, desired outputs and publish anomalies/problem reports and status reports
  • Collaborate with the ADAS HW teams in enabling hardware verification, test planning and achieve desired test coverage.
  • Develop test plans and verify new software functionality including non safety requirements
  • Be Proactive in collaborating with product architecture and software teams to better understand the SW Safety needs.


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive industry
  • Hold a B.Tech. or higher degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering
  • Knowledge of safety engineering processes (Hazard and Operability Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, etc.)
  • Knowledge in development according to safety standards such as ISO 26262 is MUST. Knowledge and experience of other related standards is a merit.
  • Good understanding of software quality concepts and processes
  • Senior experience in developing electronic or software systems, preferable with a combination of functional-, system-, hardware and software development for embedded systems.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of product development cycle (DVP).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SAFe Agile Way of Working and mindset is a plus.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ Strong background in real-time embedded operating systems, algorithms and data structures
  • Experience from agile product development in a large organization is a strong merit.
  • Practical experience from other related standards e.g. SOTIF is a merit.
  • Leadership and hands on coaching experience is a merit
  • Ability to work closely with both software and hardware designers to create new features and solutions.
  • Have experience related to functional safety and it's tool chain e.g. compilation and E2E testing of safety critical components as signals and limiters.
