This will be us - your new colleagues within Architecture
Architecture is a new function within Group Digital & IT with the goal to transform towards the North Star Target IT Architecture which is the foundation for the Digital Industrial Footprint of the Volvo Group. Together with our digital talents, we will deliver the platforms on which future services and solutions will be built. We will outline a North Star IT Architecture that embraces our legacy and enable value creation for the Group.

The function works closely together and with other parts of the organization, both in Group Digital & IT and other Group Functions. We foster an environment where ideas, thoughts and opinions can be shared. We are team players with clear common goals, based on each individual’s contribution.

This is how you could make an impact :

As a Cloud Architect, you will have the following responsibilities -

• Responsibility for end-to-end design and optimization of the applications in the basket
• Aligning with IT Security Directives and fulfilling the customer demands for information security
• Advanced knowledge on IT architecture, integration architecture, automation and new technologies
• Open-minded, modern software development enthusiast with continuous improvement mindset following market trends
• Have the experience in defining mid and long-term strategy in technology area
• Willingness to learn and over time build expertise in the business processes supported by the sub-portfolio’s solutions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Support and coach developers in their work
• Strong ownership mentality
• You are responsible for inspiring, supporting the team within the Cloud domain
• You are also on a mission to find new members complementing your existing group in competence and character
• You will collaborate closely with the Cloud team in the same domain forming a tight-knit community of practice
• Further, you will greatly influence the vision and strategy of the entire cloud domain by being a key member
• Defining how to achieve the best and continuously improving work situation for your team

Required Competencies Mandatory Skills:

• Databricks (administration and Data engineering) : expert
• Datafactory : expert
• Azure services (SQL database, administration, IAM, Datalake) : expert
• Business intelligence projects / industrialization : expert
• Data streaming architectures : advanced
• PowerBI : basic knowledge
• API/web development : basic knowledge
• Being able to design architectures using cloud services to solve Business issues and deliver value to the business
• Being able to challenge decisions taken by the platform or by other architects
• Strong leadership skills, should have led the team of 5-8
• Good experience with Microservice style architecture
• Should have worked with Data-Op's projects in past
• Should have experience in mentoring team members

Mandatory Soft Skills:

• Ability to present solutions designs to technical and non-technical audiences
• Goal-oriented, positive attitude to deliver against targets
• Strong problem solving & analysis skills: identifying, structuring and tackling a problem situation
• Able to work independently and in a team environment
• Good communication skills, fluent in English (oral and written)
• Experience with Agile practices and “can do” mindset
• Being able to understand business stakeholders and business landscape
• Understand the UDP platform, sharing its guidelines and support teams to grow and learn on the platform
• Understand business/technical timelines and prioritize tasks/projects
