Position Description: Senior Mechanical Hardware Engineer, ESS,
Electromobility, GTT Bangalore
We are currently looking for passionate engineer to join Electromobility team in the Energy Storage System Battery Pack Structural and Mechanical Hardware area
This is us, your new colleaguesWe are responsible for the development transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drive the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.

You have experience from the automotive industry with great attitude working cross functional and have a willingness to learn and take more responsibility.
What will you do?Your responsibilities are mainly design specifications for Mechanical parts within the Battery system, such as Tray, Cover & Brackets, together with the attributes that rely on those components. But it’s also a very close cooperation with CAD engineers, Function owners, System engineers and Test engineers within ESS. There is an important interface towards the Vehicle mechanical interface, as well as the supplier for the ESS or the Mechanical components, that your need to manage. You will be
involved in technical decisions towards projects and suppliers, making sure that deadlines are met with the right quality and at the right cost
Required skills and experience:- Mechanical / Automobile Engineering or equivalent education.
- Software skill required: Creo, Creo view, PDM logic
- Good materials knowledge
- Strong commitment to deliver on time with consistent and strict adherence to quality
- Be independent, pro-active and continuously strive to improve.
- Good in presentation and communication skills
- At least 7+ years within hardware development including technical requirements
