We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer for our Technology team to provide electrical design capability to engineering activities/ projects assigned to the Technology Department.

You will support current and new production design projects, prepare new wiring schematics, installation and part designs using 3D CAD tools as well as preparing and releasing 2D Drawings and Design Engineering Notices in line with company processes to industry design standards. The job will require good cross functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders where products are designed for procurement, cost, manufacturing and maintenance while ensuring compliance to quality, engineering and safety standards. In your work you will embrace all three principles of the Volvo CE philosophy: Flow, Continuous Improvement and Perform & Develop.

To be successful in this role, we believe:
  • You have passion for safety and quality
  • You have HND/BSc/BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant technical qualification
  • You can demonstrate 2 years work experience with complex electrical systems
  • You can evidence technical competence in designing components and subsystems of heavy engineering/off-highway electrical systems
  • You have proficient CAD capability as well as CIMTEAM/ZUKEN E3
  • You can evidence knowledge and experience of creating/managing Bill of Materials
  • You demonstrate a hands-on approach to engineering design and development
  • You are a collaborative team player and capable of constructively challenging other colleagues
  • You are fluent in English
  • You have competent IT Skills including Microsoft Office
  • You have good communication skills in verbal, written and presentation format
