React Native Developer

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to take part in global mobile projects.

Mobile&XR team is a very dynamic, open and adaptive team mixing many skills and competences to keep ahead of mobile world changes. We have Developers, IT Architects, BAs, Testers, Support Specialists, Designers & PMs. Most of us working in a couple of roles in the agile way.
We are part of Digital Technology department within Volvo Group Digital & IT organization.

React Native developer role split:
  • 60% native or cross-platform development
  • 20% maintaining runtime solutions
  • 10% testing
  • 10% discussing and clearing requirements

Requirements:
  • Experience in JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Good knowledge of React JS and its ecosystem (Redux, Redux Toolkit, etc.)
  • Experience in React Native (preferred React Native CLI) and supporting native libraries like React Navigation
  • Solid understanding of client-server communication
  • Understanding of mobile development and user interaction
  • Proficient understanding of Git
  • Proven ability in solving difficult programming problems

Good to have:
  • Experience in mobile development (both native Android/iOS or other hybrid technology like Flutter)
  • Experience in cloud services (i.e. Firebase)
  • Experience with relational or/and non-relational databases
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
  • Security development experience
  • Experience in SCRUM methodology

Nice to have:
  • proven experience in backend development (preferably Java SpringBoot)

Expectations:
  • Teamwork player with good communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical terms to non-technical people
  • English on communicative level
  • Focused on details and good design

Responsibilities:
  • Create, design, code, test & maintain new apps, or do the same to develop existing ones
  • Troubleshoot and debug to make sure apps work correctly
  • Improve code to optimize performance
