The function Electromobility is organized within the product development organization of Group Trucks Technology. Electromobility is one of the important technology areas with strong contribution in reducing the CO2 emissions in our society. Our main customers are the different brands within Volvo group.
Within Electromobility, we design and development of electromobility systems and components such as energy storage, motor drives and charging solutions for Volvo group products.
We are looking for a Group Manager with passion to lead both technology and people. At the same time developing our people makes us a great place for people to grow.

What is the job?

As a Group manager, you will lead the technology area, Power Conversion, responsible for the development of Opportunity Charging components & systems like Pantograph, roof rails, wi-fi Antenna and controls for the electric vehicle driveline in cooperation with colleagues within the electromobility team in your own department as well as globally with sister-teams in Sweden. As well as with the customers and stakeholders within the Volvo community.

You will be managing multiple cross-function delivery teams, with focus on technology development and high-performance culture to maximize efforts across teams. You will build knowledge, capacity and capability within teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and life-long learning. You are technology driven, comfortable in leading change, customer oriented, supportive and a good coach for the teams as well as leader of teams.

You will be part of the Electromobility Leadership team, reporting to Director, Power Conversion, Electromobility, India, playing an important role and contributing in setting vision, strategy and be part of the growth story.

Who are you?

We believe that you have previous experience of leading people and an action-oriented team player with the ability to successfully drive the team’s tasks to completion and lead cross-functional teams. You have product development experience of Electrical & Electronics hardware, software development of electric distribution and charging equipment. You have a strategic ability to understand, identify and adapt to future needs and challenges. Experience from a work environment where lean principles and agile development is a merit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ year experience from product development in the automotive/transport industry
• Strong drive and energy level with ability to create a high performing working culture
• A networking leader with courage, integrity who can lead and drive changes together with the team
• Experience from product development preferably on a modular and reuse-level
• Experience from being a leader of people and technology
• Result oriented and always looking for improvements in our way of working
• Strong drive and energy level with ability to create a high performing working culture
• Communicative and with good influencing skills
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
