Lead Wiring & Harness Engineer

The Lead Wiring and Harness Engineer has the mission to drive and deliver the design & development the wiring through concept phases up to serial production and maintenance while optimizing demands on quality, deliveries, cost and features (QDCF)

Key Responsibility:
  • Drive and deliver Design solutions & optimize wiring harnesses
  • Deliver final installation of WH (including clamping) through cooperation with XFT
  • Design for assembly and service ability in close cooperation with GTO and After Market
  • Realize the Product Structure (KOLA) , Review and release final Bill of material
  • Manage aftermarket need and release/change design accordingly
  • Interface to supplier(s) & Supplier Involvement in Product Development (SIPD) management.
  • Conduct design review with teams and suggest improvement through technical solutions.
  • Deliver concepts in early phase for affected product class considering CAST.
  • Lead a team of engineers and/or technical area, anchoring decisions at product level.
  • Support Purchasing in the request for quotation: evaluation of technical solutions from the different suppliers.
  • Support in evaluation of effort and cost estimation for technical solutions.
  • Lead Wiring and Harness Engineer has to work in close co-operation with packaging & installation, suppliers, systems engineering,component owners, purchasing, manufacturing and aftermarket.

Competence:
  • Wiring Harness design skills
  • Good understanding of product life cycle management, design change management.
  • Wiring design tools knowledge, Saber knowledge advantage
  • Fundamental knowledge of automotive electrical system design and functionality.
  • Knowledge in Wiring Harness packaging in 3D tools, Creo
  • Truck Environment & Product knowledge
  • Good communication, networking and negotiation skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Result oriented and learning agility
  • Accountability and customer focus
  • Proactive mind-set
  • 9-14 years of experience
  • B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.tech in mechatronics/electrical/mechanical domain
