Volvo Group Trucks Technology – Electromobility is the global, strategic center for electric
vehicle development within the Volvo Group. By 2040 the entire sales of Volvo Group vehicle shall be
fossil free and already by 2030 the annual sale of Electric Trucks will be 100 000 vehicles. Electromobility is a key area for the Volvo Group in order to be in the fore front of environmentally friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.

Within Power Conversion we provide world class solutions for AC and DC charging, distribute current to a powerful propulsion system as well as auxiliary loads and customer equipment. By doing so, we deliver end customer value for all Volvo business units such as trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine applications!

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the functional part of the control unit that communicates with the charging
station for electric vehicles according to the applicable standards for CCS charging and pantograph on
roof. The work is done in tight collaboration with the hardware responsible engineer for the control unit, test engineers, other system engineers within the same function area and with the suppliers for the parts. Electromobility use Agile work methods meaning that you will belong to a team with a product responsibility over time of several components: both units installed in customer used vehicles and for future development.

Typical tasks within the team

• Drive the functional development of sourced (bought) components from early specifications all the way to a final product in production.
• Write software/functional requirement specifications
• Review supplier tests and support additional in-house tests to validate supplier software in rigs
• and in vehicle
• Make SW releases in Volvo tools
• Drive diagnostic and fault handling strategy
• Solve maintenance issues
• Ensure control unit design being aligned with functional safety requirements
• Ensure, together with other experts, that the control unit is in line with cyber security

Prioritized experience and competence

• Great team player with agile mindset
• Strong communication skills and proven collaboration skills
• Excellent C, C++ and assembly programming and debugging skills.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, J1939, UDS protocol, MATLAB.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR and Vector tool chain
• Knowledge of Canalyzer and CANOE.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• +6 years of experience from Embedded Software development
• +3 years of SW experience in the EV Charging area
• BE/MTech in Electronics/software/computer Engineering or equivalent

Relevant experience

• Volvo GTT systems and process – HW and SW
• Working with Agile teams and familiarity with relevant tool ike Jenkins, GIT, JIRA, is a merit.
• Knowledge of ISO26262
• Experience working from Electrical vehicle development
