Senior IT Architect

Introduction
Group IT, Center of Excellence, Java Platform and Tools team is looking for the Senior IT Architect to strengthen our team to support digitalization journey by bringing the expertise in a new, modern approach to java software development and its ecosystem.

Role description
As the Senior IT Architect you will be involved in multiple activities with the main focus on cloud native aspects including modern architectural styles – micro services and modern monolith – providing reference architecture and methods for java community in-lined with both: tools ecosystem and appointed cloud services in Volvo. You will interact with cloud infrastructure architects to secure full alignment on the overall strategy and following methods. You will play a vital role in sharing your expertise among other departments, securing fulfillment of stakeholder requirements in the reference architecture implementation. As part of your duties you will support, coach and educate others in both new development and application modernization related activities.

As our new colleague you will be responsible for:

• Defining and building cloud native reference architecture targeting both OpenShift and Microsoft Azure
• Defining technology stack for the cloud native reference architecture targeting both OpenShift and Microsoft Azure
• Supporting teams during whole application delivery process
• Defining migration strategies for legacy java applications
• Preparing/Sharing educational material towards other departments

Who are you?

• Open-minded, modern software development enthusiast with continuous improvement mindset following market trends
• Have experience with modern architectural styles (including micro services internal and external communication, observability, deployment strategies etc)
• Have experience with at least one of following SpringBoot, Vert.x, Quarkus
• Have experience with cloud native development methods
• Have perfect understanding of Docker and Kubernetes
• Have proven working experience with RedHat OpenShift platform
• Have the knowledge of Microsoft Azure in the context of hosting java applications (certification is a plus)
• Have experience with building CI/CD pipelines
• Have ability to communicate effectively within enterprise organization
• Strong ownership mentality
